Crews help residents after leak during heavy rain

They were called to help residents in Bond Street, Blackpool, as rain lashed down at around 11.15pm yesterday.

A spokesman for the Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The caller reported water leaking into the property from the light fitting.

“Firefighters from South Shore attended and found that there was water leaking in from the roof.

“Crews assisted in salvage operations and used plastic sheets, a triple extension ladder, and hearth kit.”

The weather is set to be more settled over the coming days, forecasters have predicted. Though temperatures are expected to average around 17 degrees, it should remain dry this weekend.
