Couple admit Blackpool hotel burglary

A couple who broke into a Blackpool hotel in the early hours ended up confronting the owner.

The proprietor of The Bond Hotel, Bond Street, came face to face with Michaela Davies and Leon Roberts after they woke him with the noise they were making.

Davies, a 31-year-old music student, and Roberts, 28, formerly of Bright Street, South Shore, now living at Mayfield Road, Birmingham, pleaded guilty to burglary.

They were both sentenced to do 100 hours unpaid work for the community and ordered to pay £85 costs with £60 costs by Blackpool magistrates.

Prosecutor, Kerry Grieve, said the owner of The Bond Hotel, which was being refurbished, was woken by a bang on January 26 at 3.53am. He saw three people who fled.

He found the hotel fire door had been forced open and two televisions were missing from the walls.
