Council in adoption plea to residents

Lancashire County Council is always looking for adopters but, this February, there is an added focus on finding people, especially those willing to keep families together by adopting siblings.

County Coun Matthew Tomlinson, cabinet member for children, young people and schools, said: “We have children of all ages who need adopting. Some are looking for homes they can share with brothers or sisters, and we keep siblings together whenever we can. For children who aren’t able to be brought up by their own parents, their brothers and sisters are their anchor in life and the relationship is even more special.”

Among the 22 children currently waiting to be matched with prospective adopters, 12 are sibling groups of two.
