Church teams boost fundraising efforts

One of the organisers of the event Sheila Wrench said: “We hold these events every couple of months.

“It gives an opportunity for people to come together, have a brew and a chat and people from different churches to worship together and of course the money raised always goes to a really good cause”.

In recent months more churches have started to get involved in the Churches Together events.

Mrs Wrench said: “When we started a few years ago we only had five churches involved but in the last few months that has doubled to 10.

“I think this shows that the success of these events is starting to get noticed.”

Founded in 1995, Blackpool Schools and Youth Work is an inter-denominational Christian charity working in schools across Blackpool, the Fylde and Wyre teaching children about the Christian faith.

The team visits primary and secondary schools to take assemblies, lessons, clubs and workshops.
