Chance to bid for up to £100k to tackle crime

Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw is offering the grants, using money seized from criminals, to projects that help support police work in the county.

The money will be split equally across the county, with grants of between £5,000 an £100,000 up for grabs.

Mr Grunshaw said: “It’s open to all sectors working to deliver services or schemes in line with my police and crime plan.”

Funding will be awarded to schemes that help support frontline policing; protect vulnerable people; tackle crime and re-offending; or champion victims’ rights.

The cash comes from the £1.2m that has been recovered from crooks and returned to the PCC under the Proceeds of Crime Act in recent years.

Mr Grunshaw added: “We have been very proactive making sure that criminals don’t profit from their illegal activity and have taken steps to recover assets.”
