Three months away from the scheduled opening of the sports bar at the Wesham site and five months ahead of the first game there to kick off the 2016-17 season, the club’s new £18m is rapidly taking shape behind the scenes.

The free VIP tours at Mill Farm Sport Village start on Saturday, will run over the next few weeks and are open to all Coasters fans, with members and season ticket holders given priority.

Tours this weekend and the following Saturday are already fully booked.

There is availability on March 19 and 26 but with limited places available, early application is being advised. Bookings are being taken on a first come, first served basis.

Along with a 6,000-capacity new home for the Conference North club, currently based at Kellamergh Park, Warton, the Sports Village will include the 290-capacity Bradley’s Sports Bar - planned to be open in time for the European Championships in June – an 80-seat restaurant with roof terrace, a 40-seat café, conference and event facilities across nine rooms and five- and seven-a-side pitches for community use. An Aldi supermarket will also be on the site.

Mill Farm chief executive David Chell said: “This is a fantastic opportunity to show the supporters just how far we have come in such a short space of time.

“We are all extremely proud of the new stadium and we want to share that with our loyal fans.

“They will get the chance to walk down the players tunnel, see the changing rooms take shape and visit the roof terrace overlooking the rolling Lancashire countryside.

“We are still on course to open in the summer and this gives the exclusive chance for people to see where we are up to, while hearing it first hand from the chairman.”

To book tour places, contact the club shop on (01772) 682593 or email [email protected]. Full details will be given at time of booking.
