Cash aid for dog named Mozart hits right note
Mozart was diagnosed with cancer last year after his owner Ingrid Xuereb, 41, found an unusual lump in his mouth.
She said: “It was a very aggressive tumour. Even the vet said they had never seen one as aggressive as this.”

She said: “A CT scan alone costs £1,500.
“Money became very tight.”
In desperation, Ingrid turned to the public for help. Generous residents donated almost £800 to her GoFundMe.com charity fundraiser, allowing Mozart to be rushed in for life-saving surgery this month.
Ingrid said: “Every time there was a donation I would burst into tears. I never thought people would be this generous. It has restored my faith in society.
“Mozart is a gentle giant. I’ve had him since he was a puppy and we’ve grown old together.

“Now he’s getting his strength back slowly but surely.”
Mozart is now set to undergo another round of chemotherapy at a vets in Liverpool to kill off any remaining cancer cells.
Ingrid said: “He still has a swollen face, but he’s eating small amounts and he wants to go on walks again. He goes to the door as if to say, ‘you’ve forgotten to take me out!’
“I never thought he would come around this quickly.”
