Car flips and closes Blackpool road

Emergency services were called when a car overturned on a busy Blackpool road this afternoon.

The black VW Polo is thought to have struck the central reservation, causing it to flip over, as it was travelling along Preston New Road, Marton.

Lancashire Police said they received an emergency call at 4.37pm.

Firefighters also attended the incident, which happened close to the Wickes store, near the junction with Chiswick Grove.

The two occupants of the car were both uninjured, said police.

No other vehicle was involved in the incident.

Police sealed off the road for a short time.
