Kensington Developments is preparing to start work on a housing estate which will be built between Blackpool and St Annes.
A total of 1,001 new homes are earmarked for land off Queensway, to be named Richmond Point.
The first phase of 37 properties, including some bungalows, will begin in the next few months.
As part of the scheme, Kensington Developments has acquired all the land necessary to build the central section of the M55 link road (from the Whitehills roundabout to Cypress Point).
Under the terms of the Richmond Point planning permission the funds necessary to construct the road are payable by Kensington to the highway authority in three stages linked to the occupation of the 150th , 300th and 425th property on the development.
The company is working with Fylde MP Mark Menzies, Fylde Council, Lancashire County Council and the Lancashire Enterprise Partnership to bring forward the completion of the M55 link road in advance of the planning permission time-scales.
The development also includes extensive landscaping and formal gardens as well as 257 acres of farmland conservation area and a nature park.
This has already been established, funded by Kensington Developments in consultation with Natural England.

"The new public park will provide people with valuable outdoor space for recreation , providing valuable health and wellbeing benefits, whilst also being a great place to visit to see wildlife.”
