A Blackpool hi-tech springs manufacturer is supporting a champion rally team.

Force Technology, which is currently based in the Lightworks building at Shorebury Point, Amy Johnson Way, is supplying high performance springs for testing applications such as car engines.

The firm, which was the first to move into the newly designated enterprise zone at Blackpool Airport, was set up to produce high precision, high dynamic compression, heavy duty springs.

It is providing engine valve springs to M-Sport, the rally team which is backed by the Ford Motor Company.

It was winner of the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) Drivers’ and Manufacturers’ titles in 2017 with the EcoBoost-powered Ford Fiesta WRC.

Founded in in 2018, the M-Sport Ford World Rally Team is led by Malcolm Wilson OBE and based in Cockermouth.

Force Technology was called in to optimise beehive valve spring design for the rally car engines.

It has used the latest materials and processing technology to ensure durability in a high-rev and high turbo boost pressure environment.
