Business guru to speak to accountants

The former Minister of State for Trade and Investment will be at the annual North West Society of Chartered Accountants dinner at the Hilton Hotel in Blackpool on November 27.

Lord Jones will be sharing his views on why small businesses are the lifeblood of the UK economy and hear tales of his journey from corner shop to House of Lords.

Mark Schofield, managing director of Lancashire-based chartered accountants, Haworths, will preside over the black tie dinner, as he continues his tenure as NWSCA president for the second year. He said: “There will be no awards ceremony this year, instead we will focus on making this the ultimate networking opportunity. It will be a great forum for meeting new contacts and catching up with former colleagues.”
