War veteran Rick Clement got roped in to take on a towering charity challenge.

The former soldier who lost both legs in a road-side bomb attack in Afghanistan in 2010 successfully abseiled from the top of the Big One at Blackpool Pleasure Beach.

He was joined by a host of other daredevils including comedy duo Tommy Cannon and Bobby Ball and former members of his former regiment, the Duke of Lancaster’s Regiment.
Rick overcame this latest challenge and roped down the 235ft roller coaster to help raise money for the Army’s national charity, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.

He said: “Supporting charities that support the men and women of the armed forces is close to my heart. As the national charity of the British Army, ABF The Soldiers’ Charity looks after all soldiers, veterans and their families in times of need. All the money raised will make a big difference those who may need their help at some point in their lives.”

The abseil is an annual event staged by the Pleasure Beach to let people experience the towering roller coaster in a different way and raise money for charities.
