Blackpool stood up well to Wycombe challenge, says Gary Bowyer
MATCH REPORT: Wycombe Wanderers 0-0 Blackpool
The Seasiders were facing a team full of momentum and confidence looking to build on last season's promotion from League Two.
Gareth Ainsworth's side threw everything they had at Blackpool, with striker Adebayo Akinfenwa a particular threat, but Pool stood firm to claim a clean sheet and a point to open their tally for the new season.

“It’s a hell of a battle you’ve got to go into with them but I thought we stood up to that very well.
“Don’t forget, the core of their team is the same from last season. Whereas we’ve got eight making their debuts - that’s eight - and two of those eight were Football League debuts.
“So I can’t praise my lads enough in terms of how they stuck together and how they fought for each other.

“We could have quite easily nicked it at the death there. I thought we got ourselves into some great situations 1v1.
“Nathan Delfouneso was on fire, we just needed to do a bit more to find that winning goal.”
