Park rangers and community group Revoe-lution have also joined forces to organise the free festival which will include floral crown making, flower arranging, floral art, willow weaving, floral face painting and yarn bombing.

Gary Cumber, community connector for Revoe, said: “We’re hoping the event will engage with people across Blackpool to hopefully help us gain more volunteers at the community garden, but it’s also got lots of fun things for children to do.”

Better Start, a council-supported project to improve the lives of under-fives in Blackpool’s most deprived areas, is also consulting with people about further improvements to the park.

Community connectors, who work across the town in the Better Start wards, will be at the Flower Festival.

Alex Bergin, park ranger supervisor, said: “We are really excited about Revoe Flower Festival as a celebration of all things floral, and as a way of showcasing our wonderful community garden.

“We can’t wait to welcome people to celebrate our favourite things – flowers.”

Revoe-lution has been working with the Better Start early years park rangers to plan the event as part of its mission to improve Revoe.

Becky Doran-Brown, community development worker for Revo-lution said: “The rangers are doing amazing work down at Revoe Park and community garden and we are just happy to support the vital work they do.

“We look forward to enjoying the festival with everyone and celebrating the sense of community the rangers have worked so hard to build up in the local park.”

Residents should all come along to see what amazing things have been happening right here on their doorstep.”
