Squires Gate-based Private Label Nutrition said it has completed a £250,000 upgrade to its production facilities at Canberra Court, creating three new jobs and more than quadrupling its production capacity.

The firm, founded in 2013 and originally based in St Annes, moved to Blackpool in 2016.

Earlier this month, working with its supplier, South Korean pharmaceutical machine maker PTK, Private Label Nutrition showcased the new PR2000 tablet press at Vitafoods in Geneva, making over 250,000 tablets per hour.

After the expo, one of the world’s biggest Nutraceutical shows, the tablet press was then installed in the Blackpool facility.

Private Label Nutrition attended the Swiss expo thanks to help from an ERDF match funding grant, which supports SME companies who want to enhance their international trade performance. The grant was delivered by the North and Western Lancashire Chamber of Commerce.

Private Label Nutrition employs 15 staff and has seen continual growth since moving to their custom built, manufacturing facility.

The new upgraded production line has increased capacity for the recently Good Manufacturing Practice certified contract manufacturing facility, which specializes in manufacturing and bottling finished products for a diverse range of sectors, both in the UK and across the world.

Richard Richmond, director, at Private Label Nutrition said: “This is a massive investment, however now is the right time for us to commission this state of the art pharmaceutical grade tablet press.

“It will significantly increase the speed and delivery of our quality products to our clients, which is crucial to maintain our market share in this fast-paced internet age.

“Our new production line will definitely help us achieve our future growth objectives.”

The firm started out by selling its own brands, The Protein Lab and Choice Supplements, using contract manufactures to make and bottle them.

It then moved on to bottling its own products and those of other businesses.

Now it has taken delivery of the state of the art equipment to take its manufacturing to the next level, manufacturing tablets, capsules and powders for its clients bringing everything under one roof.
