Blackpool lifeboat crews search for person near Central Pier
Lifeboats were launched in Blackpool this morning (July 24) after a person was spotted in the sea near Central Pier.

RNLI volunteers were called out at 8am and launched two D-class lifeboats into the water to search for the person.
Crews searched the sea all the way from South Pier to the old boating pool in North Shore, but the person was eventually found by police shortly after 10am.
The person was handed into the care of an ambulance crew on the Prom and the lifeboats were returned to their stations.
