Blackpool Gold dealer hoping to retain its crown

Chard, of Harrowside, has been shortlisted as a finalist for the UK category of the Bullion Dealer of the Year 2016.

This award is sponsored by the Bullion Directory which recognises and celebrates the leading bullion dealers in five global categories.

Chard was established in Blackpool over 50 years ago and has carved itself a niche as the largest coin and bullion dealer in the North of England. It has a client base which stretches to all corners of the globe.

The company carries a wide range of bullion coins and bars from mints from all around the world as well as a huge collection of coins from ancient to modern.

Founded by Lawrence Chard in 1964, the firm has grown over the last decade to one with a turnover of almost £20m and a recent £1m expansion plan has resulted in a hi-tech purpose built showroom and office premises. Chard bosses said the company is constantly evolving and is developing new and innovative business strategies to sustain the company and gain a larger market share. Its motto is inform, educate and inspire and its websites are full of numismatic facts and figures.

Chard regularly appears on Radio Lancashire discussing coins and bullion.

It was voted UK Bullion Dealer of the Year 2015, a considerable feat against some of the largest bullion dealers in the country.

There are more than 89 UK companies listed in the bullion directory and Chard director and senior numismatist Lawrence Chard said he was proud to have been shortlisted in the 2016 finals.
