Blackpool fire: Devastated owner says 'there's nothing left' after flames destroy his catering firm

The owner of the fire-hit business on Cowley Road has told of his devastation after his business went up in flames this morning.

But Peter Croome, director of Nationwide Catering, vowed to rise from the ashes to get his business back up and running.

Mr Croome said: "I got a call from the rock business next door to say that smoke was coming into their premises from my building.

Mr Croome started the business in 2006, but just ten days ago took the step of incorporating it as a limited company.

It employs three and works in the amusements, leisure and event catering sector.

"But the building is destroyed, there's nothing left and everything inside is gone," he said.

"I feel terrible at the moment, but I will definitely set up again. We will need to find a temporary accommodation to start with, but we will be back.

"At the moment we have no definite idea why it started. It is possible that it was electrical, possibly a fridge freezer but we will have to wait and see."
