Blackpool Council reveals plans for new angling club at Stanley Park in bid to make fishing more accessible

Anyone fancy channelling their inner Bob Mortimer or Paul Whitehouse?

A new angling club could be established at Stanley Park as Blackpool Council looks to make fishing available to a wider audience.

The council is working alongside Friends of Stanley Park on plans for the new club, which would be run in partnership with the group. While the plans aim to give more people the opportunity to enjoy fishing in the park, the council says it is important that proper fishing protocols are followed to protect wildlife from equipment including fishing lines, discarded tackle and hooks.
