Queen Mary School, founded in 1930, merged with the then King Edward VII School in 1999. What was then retitled King Edward and Queen Mary School then merged with Arnold School, Blackpool in 2012 to become AKS.Former student Linda Beddows said: “Monday’s event will be an informal gathering with a chance to see some of the varied items in the QMS archive and to exchange ideas regarding the aims and activities of the proposed Association.

“We would like to see as many former students and staff as possible and hope some who attend might like to form a committee to launch the association.”
