Bespoke Little Worlds art for bedroom walls proving a massive hit for creative Natalie

“I’m booked up practically all the way through to the rest of this year. I never imagined it would be so popular”

A Fylde coast artist’s new business is booming - after being inspired by a request for a Peter Rabbit illustration by an expectant mum.

Natalie Percival, 33, from Cleveleys, has worked in graphic design and marketing as well as illustrating children’s books since graduating from Blackpool and the Fylde College with a degree in creative art 10 years ago.

Earlier this year, her younger sister Lauren, while pregnant with Natalie’s now three-month-old nephew Oscar, asked if Natalie could design a mural for the new baby’s bedroom.

Peter Rabbit was decided on as the theme and Lauren was so impressed that she prompted Natalie to spread the word via social media about her work - and the reaction has been nothing short of sensational.

“People loved it and I have been inundated with bookings - so much so I am already taking them for next year,” said a delighted Natalie.

“I have been asked for all sorts - even Elvis, Marilyn Monroe and cars as well as children’s favourites such as Toy Story.

“I’m booked up practically all the way through to the rest of this year. I never imagined it would be so popular but of course I’m thrilled.

“Each work is bespoke, designed on my laptop and then painted by hand, usually over a weekend, using acrylic paint.

“I’m always dreamed of selling my art but it has been getting harder and harder. Such a reaction to this is brilliant.”

Details of Natalie’s work and how to get in touch are at Nat Paints Little Worlds on Facebook.
