The Quit for Two campaign was launched in March 2015 to give mums-to-be all the help and support they need via the website quitfortwo.co.uk.

The county council’s first ever app - ‘Quit for Us’ - helps provide encouragement, tackle the myths behind smoking during pregnancy and clearly explains the benefits of quitting.

The app also includes helpful information about the size and development of a baby at different stages of pregnancy, a savings calculator and a quiz based on useful facts about pregnancy.

County Coun Azhar Ali, cabinet member for health said: “Teenage women are six times more likely to smoke throughout pregnancy than older mums-to-be .

“This app will be a helpful resource to encourage young women to give up smoking and we hope that it will help to increase the number of women who successfully quit smoking while pregnant.”
