Advice session for adoption and fostering

Residents thinking about fostering or adoption can find out more at a special event on Tuesday.

Two sessions will cover all there is to know about applying to foster or adopt a child, from the initial application to the vetting and selection processes.

Officers from Blackpool Council will be at the Hilton Hotel on the Promenade between 10am and noon for the fostering event, as well as a fostering and adoption event in the evening between 5.30 and 7.30pm.

Attendees don’t have to attend the entire session; they can call in at a time that is convenient and council officers will be on hand to answer questions.

Coun Graham Cain, cabinet secretary for Blackpool Council, said: “Fostering and adopting children is one of the most rewarding things that you can do.

“We have some fantastic people in Blackpool who say that fostering or adopting has completely changed their lives for the better.

“Not only can it transform your families own lives but it can have a monumentally positive impact on the young children as well.”
