The youngsters learned phrases in French, German, Spanish and Russian, sang songs in German, created artwork based on French artists and made Polish, Latvian and Russian flags.

Year Six children at the school on Garstang Road North, Wesham, sampled French food including croissants, crackers, fruit bread and some smelly cheeses.

And in Year Five pupils tasted German foods of smokes cheese, pretzels, rye bread and German sausage.
