Runners took to Blackpool Promenade last night for the annual Blackpool Night Run, experiencing the famous Illuminations while raising money for Brian House and Trinity Hospice.
The free 7.5km fundraising fun run followed a traffic-free, road-closed route, starting and finishing outside Blackpool Tower. Entrants ran north beneath the Illuminations to the turnaround at Red Bank Road before returning to the finish.
The event gave participants a preview of Blackpool’s famous lights two days before the official switch-on. Runners also received chip-timed results and a bespoke finisher’s medal.
