Runners took on the Garstang Half Marathon on Sunday, September 6, tackling 13.1 miles on an undulating one-lap road course through the scenic Lancashire countryside.
The race started at 10am, with runners setting off near the Royal Oak before taking on the rolling route and several challenging hills. The rural course provided a testing alternative to flatter half marathons, with changing gradients adding variety and making pacing an important part of the race.
Organised by Garstang Running Club, the long-established event is a fixture in the local running calendar. Race headquarters were based at Garstang Sports Club, with the chip-timed event taking place on roads around Garstang.
The rolling terrain and countryside setting gave competitors a varied challenge as they completed the course in and around the Lancashire market town.
