Play runs nightly until Saturday at St Bernadette’s Church Hall, Bispham

St Bernadette's Parish Players are marking their 50th anniversary with a festive murder mystery comedy, Sleighed To Death, being performed at St Bernadette’s Church Hall in Bispham nightly until Saturday, November 7.

The production is directed by Bernard Melling, with the play by Peter Gordon set in the country manor house of Sir Walton Gateson Christnas Eve 1935.

It’s a prequel script to a successful trilogy of plays by Gordon, which feature an intellectually and linguistically challenged Inspector Pratt.

In Sleighed To Death, Pratt is still just a sergeant, he and his reluctant WPC colleague are booked to perform a magic act, in aid of the ‘Police Malevolent Fund’ (sic) at the residence of Sir Walton Gates and his wife Grace Gates.

Mystery and comedy ensure in a festive setting.

The dress rehearsal at St Bernadette’s Church Hall was attended by the mayors and mayoresses of Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre.
