Missing those muscle gains? You can now train with the legendary ‘Mountain’ from Game of Thrones for free!

With local lockdowns sweeping the nation and some gym goers feeling too anxious to return to the gym, some are missing those crucial gains due to lack of equipment or space in their homes. To help rebuild the nation’s muscle strength during these testing times, World’s Strongest Man, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson – best known for his role as The Mountain in Game of Thrones – is hosting a series of live Lindahls PRO Power sessions based on training techniques used for Strongman competitions.

Hafþór, better known as Thor, is an Icelandic former professional strongman and actor. Thor played Gregor The Mountain Clegane in the HBO series Game of Thrones and is the first person to have won the Arnold Strongman Classic, Europe's Strongest Man and World's Strongest Man in the same calendar year. Four months ago, Thor also broke the world deadlift record.

Designed to target muscle growth and build strength, the Lindahls PRO Power sessions are a series of three 20-minute workouts offering a balanced blend of upper and lower body exercises for the ultimate full body workout. The exercises used have been adapted from Thor’s Power Program – a specific training programme used when training for a Strongman competition – and are designed so people of mixed fitness abilities can join either from their homes or when training in a gym.

Workouts will be hosted live by The Mountain on Zoom or on Lindahls UK Instagram and will include:

Speed Session – a mixture of sprints, squats, push ups and planks designed to test your speed and agility without equipment.Lactic Acid Tolerance Session – a mixture of exercises using a choice of dumb bell or kettlebell weights designed to build up lactic acid and tolerance.Strength Session – a minimalist but effective mix of three exercises using every part of your body to be completed with gym equipment.

Thor says, “Lockdown has been tough for us gym goers as many won’t have had the space of equipment to be able to continue building muscles in the rate as before.
