We’ve taken over Thyme and can’t wait to welcome you all

Thyme has entered a new era under experienced local hospitality operators, promising a refreshed offering, new weekly events and a continued focus on hearty breakfasts.

A popular local venue, Thyme in Teanlowe Centre in Poulton has officially come under new ownership as of last Friday with husband-and-wife team Lee and Julie now at the helm.

The pair, who also run The Miller Arms in Singleton, say they are excited to take on the challenge and build on the venue’s existing reputation.

In a statement to customers, the new owners described the transition as “a whirlwind few days” as they settle into the business and begin introducing changes aimed at improving the overall experience.

They acknowledged there may be “ups and downs” over the coming weeks while adjustments are made, and thanked customers in advance for their patience and support.

One of the first confirmed additions is a new weekly event: a Friday pre-drinks party, running every week from 4pm to 10pm.

The initiative is designed to create a lively early-evening atmosphere and encourage more regular footfall into the venue at the end of the working week.

Lee and Julie also expressed gratitude to those who attended the opening party last Friday, describing it as a “special night” and a strong start to the new chapter for Thyme.

Alongside the new events, the venue will continue to focus on its popular food offering, particularly its breakfast menu.

Owners Lee & Julie said in a post on Facebook: “We are owner operators currently of The Miller Arms Singleton and we are very much looking forward to taking care of you all to the best of our ability!

“Of course, there will be ups and downs over the next couple of weeks as we look to bring in changes which we feel will improve Thyme’s offering so please bear with us as we make the necessary adjustments!

“Thanks to you all for your ongoing support and we look forward to meeting more and more of you everyday.”

Guests can expect a signature full breakfast featuring locally sourced pork sausages, bacon, free-range eggs, baked beans, black pudding, slow-roasted tomato, sautéed mushrooms, hash brown, homemade chutney and toast.

Lighter portions are also available for children and older guests, ensuring a range of options for all appetites as the new owners look to build on community support in the weeks ahead.
