11 pictures as The Gardeners Arms reopens after £423k grandstand refurbishment

The Gardeners Arms in Thornton-Cleveleys has reopened following a £423,500 refurbishment, unveiling its new Grandstand sports pub concept.

The much-loved community hub reopened on February, 11 marking its transformation into a Grandstand sports pub under the Marston’s brand. The refurbishment includes a 3-metre-long, 1.8-metre-tall big screen, tiered seating, outdoor bars with screens, and the innovative Marston’s ‘Order & Pay’ app, ensuring that patrons never miss a moment of the action.

Pub partners Andrew Smith and Joanne Plevin welcomed the local community, including former and current landlords, to pull the first pint and celebrate the reopening.

They said: “From new screens and menus to involving the local community, we’re passionate about creating spaces where everyone feels welcome - whether they’re here for the match, a family meal, or to celebrate with their team after the final whistle.”

The pub will screen all major sporting fixtures, host dart and pool leagues, and introduce the new ‘Black Card’ rewards scheme for local teams, reinforcing its position as a focal point for sports fans across Thornton-Cleveleys and beyond.
