latest things, and I think it’s important for kids to appreciate how lucky they are.

“We’ve had lots of help from Home-Start and Fleetwood Together, particularly during the first lockdown when we couldn’t get out and things got quite tough for a few weeks.

“We really looked forward to the Fleetwood Together food parcel, and now we want to give something back to those who helped us.”

With just a few posts on Facebook and word-of-mouth among her friends and family, Kelly already has more than a dozen gifts donated.

She plans to collect until December 10 after which they will be split between the two charities who will collect, quarantine, and then wrap the toys for distribution.

Kelly added: “It would be fantastic if we could send enough toys so that every local child has something special to open on Christmas Day.”

Established at the start of lockdown in March, Fleetwood Together has quickly grown to be the provider of thousands of food parcels.

Their Christmas campaign will see toys and festive hampers given out to individuals and families in need from right across Wyre.

Lauren Harrison from Fleetwood Together said: “We are providing food parcels for many hundreds of families and individuals every week across Wyre, so we know there is clearly a need

in the borough. Sadly, we also know there are many people, young and old, who we know won’t have any presents on Christmas morning.

“Thankfully, we have an enormously generous community and we’re delighted that Kelly and her boys want to help as well. ”

Home-Start Blackpool, Fylde, and Wyre supports more than 140 families across the area. CEO Pat Naylor said: “It’s a lovely gesture from Kelly and the boys and we’re delighted that they

have chosen to do something like this for other families this Christmas.”
