Home-Start 'blown away' by Easter generosity for families
Families are set to enjoy an Easter treat this week thanks to community spirit in St Annes.
Businesses have been helping an Easter egg donation project for families supported by charity Home-Start Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre.
A collection point was set up by Amanda Hill from Hungry Monkey sandwich shop on Back St Annes Road West, St Annes, and support quickly followed from other businesses and AKS.
Dona Kirkham, Home-Start corporate and community fund-raising manager, said: “Amanda Hill from Hungry Monkey advertised an Easter egg collection point in the sandwich shop.
“Support came in from other local businesses such as Tracy Ingham from Rustic Living, Linda Deacon from Bonney Fabrics and Marc Bennett from The Mortgage Factory as well as local
residents and we now have a huge egg mountain.
“AKS also donated a huge collection of Easter eggs.
“We are blown away with local people’s generosity!
“We are forever grateful for the difference that their support gives to our families.
“All donated Easter eggs will be given to our families and will help to make Easter a little brighter.”
Hungry Monkey now has a collection box for any small change to help fund-raise for Home-Start.
Since lockdown, Home-Start has supported more than 163 families and 687 children. To support Home-Start with, get in touch with Dona by emailing [email protected] to
