Thousands visit the Blackpool Car Show to see hundreds of classic and rare cars

Thousands of petrolheads of all ages made their way to the Comedy Carpet at the weekend as the Blackpool Car Show took place.

More than 300 cars turned up to the event at the Promenade on Sunday which included some rare vehicles which people got the chance to see up close.

Michael Williams, chairman of Blackpool BID, said this year’s event was the most popular one yet.

He said: “Mike Simmons (aka Joey Blower), who is a BID board member, came up with the idea of promoting a car show in Blackpool and it’s great to see a good idea developing into an annual event for Blackpool. We had 350 cars on display and this was an increase on last year of 50 cars.

“The event was very well received by Promenade traders and attracted tens of thousands of people to the Promenade.”
