7. Folk of the Fylde in the 80s
Bereaved paretnts Norah and William Rigby went back to their dead son's school to inspire another generation of pupils. The couple from Wesham handed over a commemorative plaque designed by friends, in memory of RAF sergeant David Rigby who died in a helicopter crash. Thatch is back and proving a winner on an enterprising Lancashire project. And Fairclough Homes believe they may be the only ones in the country doing it. When they started it was Fairclough's intention to use thatch on only five of the houses at The Hermitage, Rowlands Lane, Cleveleys, but they have stepped it up to seven.
