GP patient survey: the best and worst rated doctors’ surgeries in Blackpool in 2021
In a year when GP appointments were more likely to be a phone call than a face-to-face meeting, it seems patients’ satisfaction with their local surgeries has remained high.

That’s according to the latest GP Patient Survey, produced by Ipsos MORI on behalf of NHS England.
The survey contacted 2.4 million people from January to April of this year to gather information on how patients feel about their local GP service, and around a third of them responded.
The results reveal the best and worst surgeries in Blackpool and beyond.
Across the country, 83% of people described their overall experience as ‘very good’ or ‘fairly good’, slightly higher than last year’s rate of 81.8%.
But two-in-five (42%) admitted to avoiding making an appointment when they had needed one.
The most common reason for this was not wanting to be a burden on the NHS, followed by not wanting to catch Covid.

7. THE CRESCENT SURGERY
There were 291 survey forms sent out to patients at The Crescent Surgery. The response rate was 46%. Of these, 56.84% said it was very good and 1.16% said it was very poor.
There were 368 survey forms sent out to patients at North Shore Surgery. The response rate was 35%. Of these, 55.95% said it was very good and 1.46% said it was very poor.
There were 407 survey forms sent out to patients at Layton Medical Centre. The response rate was 30%. Of these, 55.85% said it was very good and 3.80% said it was very poor.
There were 471 survey forms sent out to patients at Waterloo Medical Centre. The response rate was 31%. Of these, 53.40% said it was very good and 3.68% said it was very poor.
There were 462 survey forms sent out to patients at Adelaide Street Surgery. The response rate was 29%. Of these, 52.17% said it was very good and 0.94% said it was very poor.
There were 388 survey forms sent out to patients at Abbey Dale Medical Centre. The response rate was 35%. Of these, 51.51% said it was very good and 7.36% said it was very poor.
