A new private GP service covering the Fylde Coast has been set up in St Anne’s, staffed by four GPs and a practice team operating six days a week.

Fylde Private GP offers appointments when you want them, how you want them, from newly designed state-of-the art consulting rooms in the iconic old RBS building on the High Street in St Anne’s.

Whether you need a face-to-face appointment, a phone consultation, a video consultation, or, for those with mobility issues, a home visit consultation, the service is second-to-none.

It includes appointments often on the same day, or within 24 hours offering outstanding GP led care.

How does it work?

All doctors are UK trained and fully registered with the GMC with licences to practice. Managing director Matthew Cook says with Fylde Private GP you can sign up for one of the 3 annual membership plans, paid monthly, with prices ranging from £40 to £95 per month. There are memberships for individuals, couples and families, and a new corporate service for employers to offer prompt primary care for their employees has also been created. There is also the option to visit the practice on a pay as you go basis.

Matthew said: “We are bringing back the concept of the traditional family GP to offer compassionate, flexible and caring services for you, your family and loved ones.”

As well as the prompt service at times delivered in ways to suit you, you get more time with the doctor. Appointments are booked in 30 minute slots, giving you ample time to discuss multiple health concerns and your general wellbeing. This helps the GP to understand your complete health and wellbeing needs and gives time to build an ongoing two-way relationship.

Nurse appointments are also available.

Book in for a Health MOT

Many people haven’t seen a GP for years, and the Health MOT service allows for a range of tests and checks to be done, all aimed at preventing minor issues becoming a long-term problem, including early warnings of things like BMI, cholesterol and diabetes.

There are three levels of Health MOT available, offering a range of age-appropriate tests to suit you. Some Health MOTs are included in the monthly membership plans.

Matthew added: “Our research showed that there was a strong desire in Lytham St Anne’s for an affordable private alternative, offering a quick and clear pathway to private GP services and onwards private referrals if required. It’s not for everyone, but it offers patients an alternative choice to the NHS, and it’s already become a popular service.

“We see it as putting our patients first and giving them the choice of how and when they want to be seen by a GP. For many people either having the private GP as a second opinion, or simply to offer more time with the doctor, is extremely worthwhile.”

What other services are on offer?

Routine health screenings can also cover things like healthy hearts and livers, women’s health, menopause health, ovarian cancer screening, cervical screening, fertility screening, men’s health, private blood tests, fast local access to CT, MRI, x-rays, ECGs and ultrasounds, vaccinations, travel health and minor surgical procedures.

They offer fast-track referrals for diagnostic checks or other private treatments.

All are available via personal monthly membership plans and corporate membership or on a pay as you go basis
