Year 11 pupils from Baines School in Highcross Road have been asked to stay home on Wednesday (September 23) after a pupil from the year group tested positive for Covid-19.
The school says this will allow them to follow the guidance from the Department for Education and Public Health England to identify "students who have been in close proximity to the individual".

Letters have reportedly been emailed to all parents/carers of the school to outline the national guidance and to "reassure families".
One of the main rules in the guidelines about reopening schools includes the provision that pupils be broken up into "bubbles".
Each bubble will be kept separate from the other ones, meaning playgrounds may be broken up into different areas for each group, and start times may be staggered to avoid crowding at entrances.
