Working with its in-house charity, Blue Skies Hospitals Fund, the trust is inviting local families, businesses and organisations to get involved with the “historic” publication.

Images taken by staff at the hospital, documenting the response to the global outbreak, some of which have previously appeared in The Gazette, will feature in the magazine.

The 48-page publication will chronicle the changes that 2020 brought as hospital and community staff battled Covid-19. It will be circulated to all 7,500 members of staff.

As part of this publication, the trust is offering local families, businesses and groups the opportunity to record their thanks to their NHS for the care and compassion shown during the

pandemic.

The messages will be featured on a collective “Thank You” subscription page for a fee of £50, which will be donated to Blue Skies to enhance patient care across Blackpool, Fylde and Wyre.

The messages will be printed under a heading which will read: “The following people and organisations would like to thank Blackpool Teaching Hospitals staff for the care and compassion shown during the Coronavirus pandemic.”
