Blackpool Sixth Form students told to stay at home after classmate tests positive for Covid-19

Students at Blackpool Sixth Form have been instructed to stay at home after one of their classmates tested positive for coronavirus.

College services wrote to students today warning them they 'may have been in close contact with the confirmed case of COVID-19.

"As a result... you are required to stay at home and self-isolate for 14 days from when you were last in class with the student who tested positive."

Students who must self-isolate were told when they last shared a classroom with the infected student, and when it was deemed safe for them to return to college.

While off, their college attendance will be authorised and they will be given online learning.

The college said: "We are currently liaising with the local health protection team and following their guidance.
