Blackpool Pleasure Beach will no longer remain open during the coronavirus pandemic

Blackpool Pleasure Beach has confirmed that it will no longer remain open due to the "escalating situation with Covid-19".

Officials reassured guests that they will "always act in accordance with government and health authority guidelines" after announcing that the park would stay open during the Covid-19 pandemic earlier today (March 19).

A number of changes to improve and enhance their cleaning and sanitisation routines had been made, but it has now been confirmed due to the "escalating situation with Covid-19" the park will close.

A spokesperson for Blackpool Pleasure Beach said: "Due to the escalating situation with Covid-19, we have made the sad decision that Blackpool Pleasure Beach will not open this weekend and will remain closed.

"If you have booked a visit between March 19 and April 26, we are offering a free transfer to a new date this season without the need to pay the difference.

"You don’t need to change your date of visit now, please take your time in deciding."
