Those looking to take part during the week, which runs until May 24, are being encouraged to talk about mental health by sharing a range of social media graphics and helpful resources, alongside stories of kindness. Participants are also invited to set up virtual fundraising events such as quizzes and exercise challenges.
Coun Jo Farrell, cabinet member for adult social care and health, said: “Never has it been more important to talk about our mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Hide Ad"As a community, we are all going through a strange time of isolation and many people are experiencing loneliness – opening up and actually addressing what we are going through can help us to further address the stigma surrounding mental health.
“The theme of kindness is also particularly significant at this time. We have seen some truly inspiring examples of generosity and community spirit as part of the Corona Kindness campaign and wider initiatives.
"We urge people to continue sharing their stories of kindness, as well as sources of help for those that might be in need of support.”
