Bispham nursing home rated '˜outstanding' after inspectors see 'remarkable care' during unannounced visit

The health watchdog gave the home its top score overall, and said it was ‘outstanding’ in four out of five key areas: Effectiveness; levels of care; responsiveness; and leadership. It was rated ‘good’ in the last area of safety.

“During this inspection, we found multiple examples to demonstrate the staff and management team were passionate about providing an innovative, excellent service,” the report said.

The home, which cares for and supports 34 people, though it has the capacity for 35, was inspected during an unannounced visit by two social care experts and a specialist advisor with experience of helping people with mental health conditions.

They found “excellent staffing levels,” “highly-successful care planning and risk assessment,” and a “remarkable caring” service, while relatives also praised the home.
