The two students, who tested positive last week, have been self-isolating since developing symptoms.

The college, in Blackpool Old Road, wrote to students, parents and carers last night (Tuesday, September 15, 2020)alerting them to the cases, and instructing them that "unless told otherwise, all other students should continue to attend classes as normal."

"We have taken advice from Public Health Blackpool and, as a result of their guidance, any members of the college who we know have been in close contact with each student who has tested positive have been asked to self-isolate. We are currently liaising with the local health protection team and following their guidance.

"Unless told otherwise, all other students should continue to attend classes as normal and continue to follow the measures to reduce the risk of you and anyone you live with getting ill with COVID-19."

The letter went on to reassure students that the college will "continue to act on the advice of the local health protection team."
