At Weeton Barracks a new school opened on Wednesday, January 11.

The Conlon builders spent ages building it but it is now finished.

The children and staff moved in because the old school was old and rusty.

Why? Because it’s been there since 1958. It’s really unstable.

However, it is still in the barracks. Just turn left then you’ll see the giant, new school.

Don’t worry about directions it’s right next to the old school.

Inside it’s really posh, clean and quiet and it is one of only two schools with nine televisions to make a giant black screen.

The meals here are absolutely delicious because are cooked perfectly.

Mrs Hunt, the deputy head teacher, said: “I think the school is brilliant. I also think we’re really lucky.”

Mrs Morley, a welfare assistant, was asked :”What do you like about the school?”

“I like how big, nice and clean it is,” replied Mrs Morley.

Previously the children from wonderful class 5 had a visit from Mr Pallet, the head builder, and they asked him: “How do the builders feel after building the new improved school?”

“They enjoyed themselves and they are not tired,” Mr Pallett replied.

The PE equipment also needs to be mentioned.

It is amazing. It comes out from the wall and clips into a little hole on the floor and you can attach ladders. One of the ladders clips onto monkey bars. On the other side there is another climbing wall with three ropes and a ladder but in the children’s opinion, they’re not as good as the other giant climbing wall.

The classrooms are beautiful. The carpet is fluffy, everything is nice, clean and the lights are really weird because they are flat. The hallway is beautiful too and it’s quiet as well.

The playground is gigantic but it’s black. I heard they’re going to put some white and yellow paint on in March.

The rainbow room is also so much bigger for Mrs Pridmore.

It’s about double the size than the last small room.
