New T level courses available at Blackpool and The Fylde College

New T level courses could be the ideal choice if you already have your chosen career in mind

A T Level qualification is equivalent to three A Levels, carries the same potential UCAS points and, just like A Levels, can lead to a degree. What’s different about a T Level is that it also offers a nine-week industry placement giving you the chance to acquire that all-important work experience which so many employers are looking for in potential candidates today.

The extended nature of work placements on the T Level programme means that students get the opportunity to gain meaningful knowledge and expertise. In some cases, this can really pay dividends as it did with Reece Harris who has recently completed a T Level in Digital Design, Development and Production. Reece made such a good impression at Code Galaxy, a local software company, that not only have they taken him on full-time as a junior programmer, they have also agreed to support him through a degree apprenticeship with the College. Reece will eventually graduate with degree qualification but without having to worry about paying his tuition fees back all whilst earning a salary.

Blackpool and The Fylde College were one of the institutions spearheading the T Level programme and now offer the widest choice of T Levels in Lancashire. Subjects range from Early Years Education to Construction – you can access a full-list of T Levels here. What all the courses share (apart from the amazing industry placements) is access to exceptional facilities equipped with the very latest materials and equipment used in industry. They are also delivered by industry-expert tutors who are able to share their own industrial or business knowledge with students, bringing the curriculum to life.

Very recently, the College’s first cohort of T Level students received their final results with a 100% achievement rate. 85% of students achieved a Merit or above (equivalent to three Bs at A Level) and 39% achieved a Distinction or higher (equivalent to three As at A Level) with everyone having secured either employment or a place in higher education going forward.
