Headteacher Amanda Stokes said: "We were disappointed that the children would be unable to perform the usual Christmas plays and carol concerts for their families this year, due to the additional safety precautions, so we decided to try and find a creative solution."

However, the whole school is taking part in a special festive production which will see each class doing their own bit separately in a Covid-safe environment. It will then be put together to make one big video.

The head added: "Each class has chosen a song to practise (outside, as per guidelines) and we will then film them performing it, along with narrators telling the nativity story, in our very own stable, outside on the playground.

"The Early Years pupils will be playing the parts of the characters and animals, and we will even have a real donkey to carry Mary."

Year six teacher Tom Mack, will edit all the videos and put them together to make a film that parents will be able to watch

Amanda added: " Normally we would have the early years children doing a nativity / Christmas singalong, the infants doing a full blown Christmas play, and juniors performing a Carol concert in All Hallows Church.

It is such a shame that they won't be able to practice and perform in normal circumstances."
