Bestselling author inspires pupils to become writers

Bispham school pupils have been inspired to become the next generation of budding writers following a visit by a bestselling children’s author.

Bispham Endowed CE Primary School hosted author Eve Wersocki-Morris as part of staff’s determined effort to encourage pupils to be aspiring writers.

The pupils were indeed inspired by Eve as she discussed how she became an author, her writing process and the latest release from her collection, ‘Clem Fatale Has Been Betrayed’.

Some of the pupils were even lucky enough to receive a signed copy of the book.

Andrew Woodward, deputy headteacher at the school on Bispham Road, said: “It is all part of a big push from the school to inspire young readers and writers and follows on from some Year 6 children having their poems published earlier this year too.”

Bispham Endowed partnered up with Silverdale Publishing and Book Bean and Ice Cream – a Kirkham-based book shop – to bring the London-based author to the Fylde Coast.

Despite being diagnosed with dyslexia aged 12, nothing could stop Eve’s literary ambitions and she wrote her first full novel aged 13.

Her debut The Bird Singer was inspired by her Polish heritage and was a Sunday Times Book of the Week while her second book The Wildstorm Curse was an Independent Bookshops Bestseller.
