Although Millfield Science and Performing Arts College has very low incidents of bullying, they are still determined to ensure any form of bullying is dealt with swiftly.

With that in mind, the school has launched ABBA, an anti-bullying ambassador scheme.

It will be run by the four house intervention managers at Millfield and has seen students from every form put themselves forward to be an ambassador.

The idea is for them to be the listening ear and a point of support if other students are being bullied.

The scheme also aims to introduce lots of fun events that bring students together.

The scheme was launched by the headteacher, pupils and leaders of charity Kindness Counts UK, who have organised for a kindness bench to be installed at school.

A spokesperson said: “This will be in place when we return to normality and will be a place for students to go when they want to meet new friends and socialise.”
