Sandpiper pub in Cleveleys is demolished to make way for new homes

A derelict pub in Cleveleys has been demolished to make way for a cluster of new homes and apartments.

In total, three houses and 12 apartments will be built on the site adjacent to Cleveleys Avenue and Oxenholme Road.

The new homes will be a mix of 1 and 2 bedroom apartments and two-bedroom houses, which will be available for rent through Adactus Housing Association.

The pub has been closed and vacant for some time and was bought for development in 2017. A completion date for the new homes has not yet been confirmed.

Demolition contractors moved onto the site on Monday morning (January 11), and swiftly set to work razing the building with a demolition excavator.

By Tuesday afternoon, the site of the once-thriving community pub had been reduced to rubble.
