This summer saw Lytham Festival celebrate a decade of music with its most spectacular year to date. Huge acts, including Kylie and Rod Stewart graced the stage, with more than 75,000 fans turning up over the five nights.
8. August 2019
The Fylde coast said farewell to beloved entertainer Joe Longthorne in August. A host of famous names joined the mourners in Blackpool for the funeral after the performers death on August 3 following a long battle with cancer.

The start of the school year was extra special for the family of Jorgie Rae Griffiths who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma in 2016. After travelling to the US for pioneering treatment, she started at Kirkham and Wesham Primary School.

Quick-thinking Hollie Heywood, six, hit the headlines in October after saving the life a man suffering a heart attack. The youngster, from Cleveleys, saw the man in difficulty and alerted others who were able to help him just in time.
11. November 2019
More than a dozen dogs were rescued from a house fire in Hambleton last month. It took six fire crews to tackle the blaze, which badly damaged the property. Three people were taken to hospital.
12. December 2019
Two teens who rushed to the aid of an elderly woman who was hit by a car were hailed heroes. The police cadets stopped traffic and comforted the woman while they waited for paramedics following the hit-and-run in St Annes.
